My experience at the Parc del Fòrum this year was a beautiful chaos of popping off, complaining, and getting sunburnt. It was a festival defined by its incredible vibe and the annual challenge of navigating its sprawling, brilliant schedule. Now, breaking the silence earlier than ever, Primavera Sound has pulled its signature move, dropping a kaleidoscopic lineup that mixes past, present, and future. A top bill that condenses five decades of popular music, smashing together distorted rock, hip-hop, and cutting-edge pop.
Leading the charge is The Cure. Robert Smith’s immortal band, who hold the record for the longest concert in the festival's history, are back, their relevance recalibrated by their celebrated recent album, Songs of a Lost World. Joining them is the chameleonic superstar Doja Cat, set to unleash her arsenal of hits, and the long-awaited return of a festival icon, The xx, after almost a decade away.
The headliners are rounded out by the animated adventures of Gorillaz, with Damon Albarn at the helm; a first-ever performance from trip-hop legends Massive Attack, settling a historic debt; the deafening reunion of shoegaze pioneers My Bloody Valentine; and the absolute confirmation of pop phenomenon Addison Rae.

Of course, a Primavera lineup is always more than just its headliners. The poster is packed with familiar faces and returning heroes, including the ever-mellow Mac DeMarco, the irresistible troubadour Father John Misty, and the perfect folk-rock of Big Thief. British rapper Little Simz and the unstoppable Wet Leg are also set to return, alongside shoegaze royalty Slowdive and new slacker idol Alex G.
In contrast, rising star Lola Young will be making her debut not only at Primavera but in Spain, while the electronic side of the festival is well-represented by the maverick Skrillex and the supernova Peggy Gou. They are joined by generational icon Pinkpantheress, the preacher Ethel Cain, the multifaceted Blood Orange, and Ireland’s Kneecap, who return on their own merits after a standout performance last year.

But the true personality of Primavera is found in the delightful contrasts buried deeper in the poster. Where else would the silky R&B of Ravyn Lenae coexist with the Buenos Aires rock of Bestia Bebé? Or the metalcore roar of Knocked Loose with the counter-current folk of Annahstasia? The lineup even finds space for such unusual proposals as veteran vocal experimenter Joan La Barbara and Scottish bagpiper Brìghde Chaimbeul.
Primavera Sound Barcelona will hold its main events from the 4th to the 6th of June 2026 at the Parc del Fòrum. As always, the festival will extend for a full week, with an opening day on Wednesday, the closing electronic party on Sunday, and a parallel programme of city-wide gigs yet to be revealed.
